Asociatia Millennium Center implementeaza proiectul “Key Nests 4 Children” in Dodowa, Ghana impreuna cu organizatia partenera din Olanda – “Stichting NeViSo” care prevede trimiterea unui nr. total de 26 de voluntari romani si olandezi in stagii de voluntariat de 3, 6 si 12 luni in Dodowa, Ghana. Activitati: campanie de cercetare, campanie de informare, activitati non-formale cu copii si tinerii, actiuni de fundraising. Deadline: 31.01.2012. DESCRIERE STAGIU DE VOLUNTARIAT
Proiect EVS „Key Nests 4 Children” in Dodowa, Ghana
Înaintea începerii completării dosarului de aplicație pentru acest proiect, vă rugăm să aveți în vedere faptul că în urma acestei etape va exista o preselecție a participanților, urmată de un interviu și o probă finală ce se va desfășura la sediul nostru din Arad. De aceea vă rugăm să aveți în vedere faptul că în eventualitatea în care veți fi selecționat(ă) în etapa urmatoare, costurile aferente prezentării la interviu și proba finală vor fi acoperite în totalitate de către fiecare candidat în parte. Cei selecționati in final vor avea parte si de o sesiune de pregatire formata din mai multe module ce se vor organiza tot in Arad si care vor avea o durata de pana la 2 saptamani intr-un interval de timp de 1 luna inainte de plecarea in stagiul de voluntariat. De asemenea, se solicita candidatilor o disponibilitate mai ridicata in ceea ce priveste timpul acordat altor proceduri adiacente participarii cum ar fi obtinerea vizelor, administrarea vaccinurilor etc. Va rugam insistent sa aveti in vedere toate aceste aspecte inainte de a aplica.

Descrierea proiectului:
The main topics are youth participation into preventing child labour and exploitation of children through work by engaging non-formal education measures meant to give children and their families support in finding alternatives for spending free time while making space to safe personal development of the children and intercultural dialogues between European and African cultures.
Sarcinile voluntarilor (linii generale):
- design and implement a research campaign regarding opinions and perceptions of child labour’s situation (3 months between 01.04.2012 – 01.07.2012)
- design and implement awareness raising campaigns concerning the negative impact of child labour market on children development as adults (in 15 communities from Ghana between 01.06.2012 – 01.05.2013)
- developing non-formal activities such as: dance classes, different workshops, cartoons visualization, English lessons, singing competitions, European cultural sharing, sportive games etc. (between 01.06.2012 – 01.05.2013)

Young people with fewer opportunities are young people that are at a disadvantage compared to their peers because they face one or more of the situations and obstacles mentioned in the non-exhaustive list below. In certain contexts, these situations or obstacles prevent young people from having effective access to formal and non-formal education, trans-national mobility and participation, active citizenship, empowerment and inclusion in society at large.
Social obstacles: young people facing discrimination because of gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc.; young people with limited social skills or anti-social or risky sexual behaviours; young people in a precarious situation; (ex-)offenders, (ex-)drug or alcohol abusers; young and/or single parents; orphans; young people from broken families.
Economic obstacles: young people with a low standard of living, low income, dependence on social welfare system; in long-term unemployment or poverty; young people who are homeless, young people in debt or with financial problems.
Disability: young people with mental (intellectual, cognitive, learning), physical, sensory or other disabilities.
Educational difficulties: young people with learning difficulties; early school-leavers and school dropouts; lower qualified persons; young people with poor school performance.
Cultural differences: young immigrants or refugees or descendants from immigrant or refugee families; young people belonging to a national or ethnic minority; young people with linguistic adaptation and cultural inclusion problems.
Health problems: young people with chronic health problems, severe illnesses or psychiatric conditions; young people with mental health problems.
Geographical obstacles: young people from remote or rural areas; young people living on small islands or peripheral regions; young people from urban problem zones; young people from less serviced areas (limited public transport, poor facilities, abandoned villages).
